John Fiske manages Gomez Environmental Litigation practice. In 2013, SD Metro Magazine named Mr. Fiske to its list of “40 Under 40,” and he is a 2012 Top Influential (The Daily Transcript), a 2009 Top Young Attorney (The Daily Transcript), and a 2007 50 People to Watch (San Diego Magazine). Mr. Fiske has regularly appeared as a TV analyst on Fox 5, KPBS, KGTV, KUSI, and UT-TV. Notable awards include a $20 million settlement, and a $10.8 million and a $13.5 million judgment.
John Fiske manages the Gomez Complex Litigation practice group, including Mass Torts, Class Actions, and Environmental Litigation.
John is an environmental lawyer who strives to bring justice to polluters and manufacturers of known pollutants.
John represents the cities of San Diego, San Jose, Oakland, Berkeley, and Spokane as plaintiffs in environmental and public nuisance actions against Monsanto for polluting America’s waterways with PCBs.
John’s projects also include groundwater contamination lawsuits, such as against a multi-billion dollar aerospace company, which created the largest chlorinated solvent plume in the state of California, endangering teachers and children at an elementary school.
John lead an investigation in San Luis Obispo, uncovering many drinking wells contaminated with TCE and other toxic chemicals. John represents the families affected by the contaminated drinking water.
John represents over 110 clients in a tragic wildfire case against Chrysler and the U.S. government.
John is a 2015 Super Lawyer.
He earned his law license at age 23 after attending California Western on a full-ride scholarship and serving as Associate Editor of the Law Review.

John is a Past-President of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Brain Injury Foundation. He has served as an Advisory Board Member for UCSD’s Bannister Family House, and as a Board Member of Solutions: Exploring Success Post-High School. He has served as a Red Coat for the San Diego Bowl Game Association (Holiday Bowl) and has been a “Big Brother” to two “Little Brothers.”
John regularly discusses legal topics on television, including Fox, KPBS, ABC, and KUSI.
John rides horseback, surfs, snorkels, hikes, and camps. He’s raced the Spartan Beast, Ragnar Relay, and Tough Mudder.
John has befriended two rescue dogs, an Italian Greyhound mix named Bella and a German Shepherd named Daisy.
